Listen Up: Christmas Music

I’m one of those people who has a stint in July where I crave listening to Christmas music. Yep, in the sweltering California heat of summertime, I like to listen to Bing Crosby’s White Christmas album. I listen to Crosby and Sinatra on repeat for days at a time. So when the holidays come around a few months later, I like listening to some newer versions of the old classics. Here are some of my favorite modern christmas albums and the best (in my opinion) tracks from them:

A Very She & Him Christmas

For an Indie Christmas: It’s Zooey Deschanel’s voice set to Christmas music, need I say more?

The Christmas Waltz // Christmas Wish // Silver Bells // The Christmas Song // Blue Christmas

Michael Buble Christmas

For a Jazzy Christmas: If you love the classic Sinatra holiday jams, Michael Buble is definitely for you. He brings a new twist to old favorites; I especially love his version of Santa Baby during the holidays.

Jingle Bells // Holly Jolly Christmas // Santa Baby // Cold December Night

Pentatonix Christmas

For an A Cappella Christmas: Every Pentatonix cover gives me chills. I remember crying while watching their cover of Little Drummer Boy. It’s a whole other realm of Christmas music.

White Winter Hymnal // Mary, Did You Know? // Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy // Silent Night // Little Drummer Boy (from PTXMAS) // Carol of the Bells (from PTXMAS)

What are your favorites Christmas albums? I’d love to know! Meanwhile, enjoy mine and have a great Wednesday.
