Awhile back, I posted about a travel video from Vimeo that is quite the bee’s knees. I must admit that I haven’t been through my Vimeo feed in some time and was just recently able to catch up on some great films. There are so many different videos I enjoyed that I couldn’t choose just one to post about, so today I’m sharing a roundup of the videos I’m watching this week.
“Sunday Candy” | Donnie Trumpet & the Social Experiment from Austin Vesely on Vimeo. I remember seeing a clip of Chance the Rapper performing this song on his SNL appearance and it was caught in my head immediately. So when I was browsing Vimeo, I was in the mood to hear it again and clicked on the top result (it had the most plays so it seemed legit). I was shocked to see that it was a full official music video; it’s safe to say the hook, and the entire video, gives me chills. If you know about Chance the Rapper, or like good music, this is a must watch.
Chicago from enoch kim on Vimeo. If you haven’t gotten the hint, I love travel videos, specifically the ones of classical cities filmed in black and white. My absolute favorite thing about this film is the use of the street performer’s music as the background for the entire video. It adds such a great tone to every scene and I felt transported to the streets of Chicago.
ODESZA – It’s Only (feat. Zyra) – Official Music Video from ODESZA on Vimeo. I already loved this song before I even knew there was a video to it. It’s my favorite ODESZA song and Vimeo picked it as one of their Staff Picks so it showed up in my feed. It was the first video I watched when I looked through, and let me say one thing: wow. When I would envision a music video for this song, I would always image something colorful, but this black and white montage is perfect. It’s dark, tragic, and slightly apocalyptic, but it’s absolutely beautiful with the song.
You can follow me on Vimeo for more of my favorite videos. Which one is your favorite?
