This past week, I took a much-needed vacation to LA to visit some friends! Most of the time, I listened to music, caught up with friends, and ate good food. No complaints here!
As for any concrete plans, Bryn and I just had to do our semi-annual photoshoot! The last time I photographed my bff was our trip to Palm Springs back in the spring. I don’t know why, but I really wanted to go to Venice Beach. Usually, the idea of a touristy beach in LA would send me running, but hey, try something new everyday(?). We saw the canals, ate at Eggslut (yes, that’s the real name of a real restaurant), and watched the skateboarders at the skate park. Even looking back on it, I hadn’t been to beach in a very long time.
If you ever visit Venice, I would definitely recommend taking a picture of (or in front of) the Venice sign! Even for visiting in the middle of the day, the small crowds surprised me. My favorite part of the day was probably walking on Abbot Kinney Blvd with Bryn. She found an ice cream truck on instagram called Van Leeuwen that served vegan flavors as well, so obviously we had to go! She ordered the mint chip and I ordered the vegan salted caramel (bc dairy-free). For a dairy-free ice cream, it took my breath away; the ice cream packed a punch of flavor while still being creamy and not watered down.
Cute boutiques and restaurants line the entire street. Bryn and I went in and out of some of the cutest stores, but this one had to be my favorite! Towards the end of the day, we headed to the pier to take pictures (obvs). Bryn wore the cutest gingham jumper from this boutique! If you keep scrolling, the ones where she is out of focus were all happy accidents! I definitely wish to do more beach session in the future, so I guess this means more trips to LA ;).
Despite all the sunny vibes from this shoot, October has rolled in, so goodbye summer and hello autumn!
