Moving to midtown Sacramento means living within walking distance of all of my favorite spots. My favorite coffee shops, restaurants, and Capitol Park are all just blocks away. A couple of months ago, Sacramento’s newest plant shop, Propagate, opened its doors just a few blocks down the street.
Alli created this space for all crazy plant ladies to get their greenery fix, but she has even bigger plans. She wants Propagate to be more than a plant shop; she wants it to be a one-stop-shop for community: a full-service tea salon, selling plants and cards, a venue for workshops and private events.
I must admit, walking out after meeting Alli, asking her questions about her plans for her shop, and seeing her passion, I teared up. You couldn’t help but feel purely inspired by her. She saw a need (Sacramento is very lacking in the plant shop department) and filled that need beautifully. I have a dream of opening up my own store one day and fill it with things I love, and there Alli is, doing just that.

Not only can you pick up a new plant, but you can also find beautiful pots to take them home in.

I still regret not taking home one of those patches to add to a jacket or canvas tote.

Alli painted the ceiling a custom green because, as she put it, the color green supposedly brings happiness.

Now that fall is around the corner, I can’t wait to sit in the corner, drink some tea, and enjoy the company of plants and friends. Visit Propagate at 1700 I St, Sacramento.
