After seeing McWay Falls in gorgeous afternoon light, we (literally) chased the sunset to Pfeiffer Beach. Unfortunately, the park employee wouldn’t let us go down to the parking lot so we had to park on the highway turnout and walk two miles to the beach.
My friends and I decided we were desperate to get there in time for sunset and hitchhiked the two mile walk with a passing car driven by a very nice couple. We made it just as the sun was setting inside the arch of the Pfeiffer Rock.
This beach is by far one of the most beautiful, awe-inspiring beaches I have seen in California. Big Sur, you were wonderful and I cannot wait to see you again.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to release a guide to Big Sur within the next week. Where should I go next?
