Guys! This session finally happened! Angel and I had been trying to get together since Thanksgiving of last year! Every time we set a time, something or another would come up and we would have to reschedule. This summer, we resolved that we would have to meet before she left to go to Oregon for college. Once again, we kept rescheduling and rescheduling until we finally met one hot afternoon in downtown Sacramento at the Tower Bridge.
Finding a great location was difficult for us; she’s also a photographer and understands the importance of a great setting. Both she and I had never shot at Sacramento’s “landmark” bridge, so we decided to start there and eventually make our way down to the docks. Some of my favorite shots actually came from the docks; the harsh light reflected so well off of the metal backdrop and illuminated around her, like an ANGEL. (Ha!). This session reminded me how much I love light images. I feel like a lot of my work lately has been focused on a moody, darker feel, but after this shoot, I am turning back to my light-filled roots!
I loved working with Angel; she’s absolutely the sweetest and she has a great eye! I was chatting with her about her photography work (she’s been on a sort of hiatus) and she said she might pick it up again while in Oregon! I can’t wait to see what she does as I’m sure it’s going to be wonderful. Here are some of the highlights from our sunny afternoon session!
