Brooklyn Baby

Brooklyn Bridge NYC

Ah Brooklyn, Brooklyn, take me in.

Our last morning in New York, we took one last excursion to see Brooklyn in all of its glory. We hit both the Brooklyn Bridge and the DUMBO area early in the morning. I definitely wish we would have spent more time in Brooklyn during our trip; each of our Airbnbs were located in the Bushwick and Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhoods. I hear that the city is full of delicious restaurants and great vintage shopping (which I’m starting to get into!).

If you want to walk the Brooklyn Bridge without any tourists, go as early as you possibly can. I’ve seen others visit as early as sunrise and they didn’t encounter a single soul. One day, I want to try walking (or biking!) across the whole bridge like they do in the movies.

Another famous Brooklyn spot: DUMBO, which stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. A view where the Manhattan bridge frames the Empire State. Both are amazing spots to get breathtaking views of the city.

We only spent maybe two hours total wandering around town, and ended up walking along the piers with the skyline in view. My flight left from a different airport and at a different time than my friends’ flight, so we parted ways shortly afterwards. However, I’m glad that I chose to fly out of the JFK airport, because there was a Shake Shack right next to my gate! Talk about blessings! A wonderful last day (and meal) to end my time in New York.

New York, I’ll be back soon.
