Here we go: another round of weekend links! Right now, I’m currently in San Diego, dropping my sister off at college (cue all the tears!). As usual, I have been busy with work, but I’m starting to prioritize shooting at least once a month. After I come home from a busy day, I love to relax by browsing the internet to find inspiration and fun things to share. For the month of July, I felt uninspired and unmotivated. Everyone goes through a lull, and mine took a whole month, but I’m back into the swing of things now! Enjoy these loved links that have inspired me.
- This amazing top from Free People. Although it’s not exactly a budget piece, the statement details still look so chic and high-end.
- After my trip to New York (and a visit to the Glossier penthouse), I started taking my skincare routine seriously. I’ll post about my full lineup soon, but there is one thing I have yet to try: double cleansing. I had seen some articles about it, but the lazy girl in me decided against adding an extra step to my routine. After reading this post from A Beautiful Mess about Elsie’s favorite skincare products, it nudged me in the right direction.
- As a raving fan of Wes Anderson’s aesthetics, this subreddit consists of people all over the globe posting photos of various locations that could fit in one of his films.
- I mentioned before that I had watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and this six-minute documentary about Jim Carrey’s painting is phenomenal. Everyone knows Jim Carrey for his comedic performances, but this film gives an eye-opening look into the mind of his artistry.
- For the past year, I gave up dairy. I didn’t completely cut it out; I still eat cheeses and products that “contain” milk, but I don’t drink anything with milk or eat milk ice cream anymore (save for a few splurges). This post about cutting out dairy really encouraged me that I made the right choice. It surprised me to read that full fat organic cow’s milk had more nutrients than an almond milk alternative. However, the “good” reasons to go dairy-free were the exact same reasons I quit. I’ll do a post later on about milk alternatives that I like to use.
- Aimee Song has always been one of my favorite bloggers out there. I am in love with this video where she styles a slip dress 8 ways; it’s full of summer outfit inspiration.
- I’m starting to look into furniture for my bedroom, and I am eyeing this dresser from Target! (Update: The six-drawer version I want sold out, but I hope they restock soon.)
- If you couldn’t tell, I’m on a “A Beautiful Mess” kick. I would love to tackle this DIY wall hanging or this acrylic earring holder.
- Speaking of earrings, my ears have closed up and a coworker and I have been wanting to get our ears pierced so we can wear these and these (both from Madewell obviously).
- Alice Lindstrom’s paper collages.
- I have never clicked on a blog post so fast due to a comical title until I saw this post from ManRepeller on Instagram style.
- Lorde released six videos of (live) stripped-back versions of songs off of Melodrama. My favorite at the moment is Hard Feelings/Loveless.
- The featured image above is from a shoot I did with my coworker/friend Alex for her blog, Tinted Green! I absolutely love her shoes from her day look.
Omg I immediately subscribed to that subreddit. What a neat concept!
