After being inspired by Muriel Knudson’s hashtag #takemorepicsofurfriends, guess what I did? Yep, you guessed right.
I hit up my friends Paige and Bailey to hang out while letting me practice shooting film. We walked through the International World Peace Rose Garden and Capitol State Park in downtown Sacramento. Surprisingly enough, I had never shot in the rose gardens before (at least formally). For every few film shots (I’ll link the post once I get the scans!), I made sure to capture the same scene on digital.
Some of these photos remind me of when I would just go out and casually take pictures of my friends. Whether it was during our adventures or on the top of our neighboring parking garage, it’s what got me into photography. I always miss the naivety I had in the beginning; just capturing what I saw without worrying about anything was the purest thrill. Those photos that I took without thinking, those are my absolute favorites. I wish more than anything I can go back to that place, a place of curiosity and learning and growing.
I included a shot of Micah from a few days before too, also taken near the rose garden!
