In an attempt to share my wedding work, what better to be my first feature than my friend Tiffany’s wedding?!
All Tiff and Michael wanted to do for their wedding: celebrate their marriage and dance.
Some context: Tiffany was the college housemate of my high-school-bff-turned-college-roommate during her last couple years of college after I unceremoniously dropped out. Every time I would visit my bff (hey Bryn!), I got to know Tiffany more and more, every now and again hearing about her boyfriend Michael as well. After I photographing another one of their housemate’s senior photos, Tiffany told Bryn: “I want Sarah to shoot my wedding.” While I am told this a lot, and am always flattered when people say this to me, I hardly expect anything to come of it, even if it’s said with great intent!
After Tiffany and Michael got engaged, we emailed details and I was in it for the long haul. And what a haul it would be. Their wedding, originally slated for June 2020, (and all of us with any hindsight can see) didn’t happen. (A pandemic hit and turned everything into an unprecedented time, if you don’t have the hindsight). They married on that day anyways, in Washington (where they live) because they weren’t going to let anything stop them. I, however, was waiting in the wings. After rescheduled dates and venue switches (Tiff was a trooper during this process!), they secured a date in June 2021. And two weekends before I moved to NYC, nonetheless.
Bryn and I road-tripped from Sacramento down to Camarillo in Southern California. The night before the wedding, we met the bridal party at a brewery (their “rehearsal dinner”, so laid back and fun) and I finally got to see Tiffany for the first time in two years. The entire bridal party (and all of the guests, too) were so much fun and I know it reflects in these photos. Every moment of their wedding day was so chill, fun, and truly celebrated them as a couple.
Side note: this was (admittedly) my first wedding at an official venue and Casi Cielo Vineyards did not disappoint! Just take a look at the photos and you’ll see.. it’s stunning.
Big thank you to Tiffany and Michael for letting me photograph their day and thank you to Clarissa for assisting me and knocking it out of the park!
